| I actually do this. I call it the happy writer dance. |
One of the things I want to do is be able to offer some resources on the site for all you creator types. You can never have enough resources, I say! NEVER! And guess what? I have accumulated a lot over the years; from scripts, to handouts, to tutorials, to things I have figured out via flying at the seat of my pants over the tarantula filled ravine that is better known as Trial and Error.
Today I'd like to offer the Character Design Template up to all who would like to use it. Now there's a million of these around, and frankly I ripped this one off of one of Brian Schirmer's lectures in Writing For Comics. He quite literally wrote this on the board and I wrote it all down, then took it to a coffee shop and typed it out.
That aside, when I start a new project this is one of the first things other than kissing my loved ones goodbye and telling them I'll see them on the other side I use when I develop a main cast. I replace the title with the character's name and fill in the blanks, then save as a new document with said character's name. For me it's the best way to keep track of everyone, their personalities, their motives and even the rough outline of their arcs and how they'll develop over the course of the story. It's makes life easier, I like easier.
So here's the download of the RTF file for ya, and the jpg of it all below. Hope it helps.

I saved this and will use it- thanks ash!
